What is CrossBox at Health & Fit De Werf in The Hague?
CrossBox classes are held in a specially dedicated part of the gym called “the Box” that includes equipment from multiple disciplines such as barbells, dumbbells, pull up bars, jump ropes, kettle bells, medicine balls, boxes and much more!
CrossBox is focused on “constantly varied, high-intensity functional movement “, using exercises like body weight exercises, indoor rowing, Olympic-style weightlifting, powerlifting, endurance training etc. etc.
CrossBox lessons are taught by our well trained, highly skilled instructors and typically include a warm-up, a segment to develop skills, the high intensity “Workout of the Day” (or WOD) and concludes with a period of individual or group stretching.
With CrossBox you execute exercises at 85% of your maximum ability to lift a certain amount of weight once. Which means that with certain exercises such as squats, deadlifts or military presses the weight load can be quite substantial. Correct execution of the exercises, focused on form and within the limits of your body will help prevent injuries. CrossFit workouts tend to vary greatly but will always encourage you to push towards your maximum capacity.
